Grandpa Jeff and Grammie Mel stopped by today to help us with some heavy lifting and to finally put together our storage unit for the playroom. Shayna was a bit under the weather with a bad cold, but as soon as she saw the tools come out and the "construction" begin she joined the ranks of strong Cohen women and got out her hammer to help. She absolutely loved helping and wanted to be involved in each and every step. She was quite the little carpenter.

Overalls
Today's blog post is brought to you by the number 9.
Nine is the number of snaps I needed to open and close each time I changed this cutie's diaper today. Totally worth it. Love the overalls!

A Special Shout Out
Shayna would like to give a special shout out to her baby buddies Nora and Elise! They are the first of our Virginia playgroup to celebrate their 1st birthday! Shayna, Nora and Elise used to Jazzercise together in utero with their mommies from the very beginning! We were hoping to make it down for their party, but couldn't, so instead we are sending lots of hugs!
Here's an old shot of Nora and Elise and their Mommy at one of our playdates.

New Friends
Over the last couple of weeks (while I continue to look for a job) Shayna and I have been exploring our new community and getting to know the area. We of course miss our baby buddies and baby mama friends from Virginia, but we are starting to meet some new people. Today we went to a local farm/petting zoo/market/pumpkin patch called Abma's Farm with some new buddies. Yup, a little bit of everything, but a lot of fun.
Shayna wasn't really into the smelly animals or shopping for fruits or veggies (not suprising seeing as she still refuses to eat anything green!), but boy oh boy did she love running after her new buddy, Simon and any other kids she could find. We love how outgoing and friendly she has become. We spent most of the time running after the older kids, picking up sticks, and patting all the pretty pumpkins. We both had a great time, and look forward to more good times in NJ!

So close
Shayna continues to hone her walking skills. She now walks quite well holding on with only hand, can walk 5-6 steps on her own back and forth from Mommy to Daddy, and loves to walk "all by herself" with her new shopping cart from Uncle Matty!
