The last couple of nights Shayna has been rather uncooperative when it comes time for dinner. We're not really sure why. She rocks breakfast and lunch, but for whatever reason, when dinner rolled around tonight it was more of the same. She refused everything we offered. "Refusing" usually involves a lot of screaming and crying and makes it quite hard to convince her otherwise. Earlier in the day Shayna and I had split a banana. Bite for Mommy, nibble for Shayna, bite for Mommy, nibble for Shayna. So in an effort to get her to eat something, anything, I took out another banana. Sure enough... she loved it. "Forget that pureed stuff, Mom... bring on the real food!" We rummaged in the fridge to find more "Shayna-safe" food, and found a plum. I cut up a couple small pieces and she loved it, but she kept reaching for the whole fruit. After some screaming I finally gave in and gave her the whole fruit. Sure enough, she ended up eating half a plum (minus the skin) just like a little adult. Not the ideal meal, but so cute! Is she really growing up this fast?
