"New" Piano

When Brian's grandparents (the GGs) moved out of their Brooklyn apartment awhile back, they needed a new place for their piano, and wanted it to stay in the family. We couldn't pass up on such an opportunity, and snapped it up. Unfortunately, until now, we didn't have any room for it. But today, Shayna got a very special gift delivered.

Thank you to the GGs for this amazing gift, and thank you to Grammie and Grampie for storing it in your basement and helping us get it moved into our new home.

Some Recent Activities

It's been awhile since our last post, so we thought we'd do a big update on some of our latest activities.

Shayna quite enjoys going through Mommy's jewelry box.

We had another snow storm, which gave us some great time at home together...

...including storytime with Daddy.

Shayna spends a lot of time taking care of her "babies". They need lots of diaper changes, and they always seem hungry for whatever she's cooking up.

Shayna's been "talking" up a storm. She seems to have her own "dialect" that we don't quite understand, but she can talk and talk and talk. We LOVE to hear it.

And today we had some fun with finger painting!

Super Bowl Sunday

Shayna (and her parents) joined new buddy Blake (and his parents) for a low-key Super Bowl party on Sunday. It was the end to a very fun weekend with Shayna. She was such a good girl, and loved exploring the new digs.

She even let Mommy play with Blake a little bit.

But, she did come over and plop herself down on my lap to stake her territory and remind Blake just who's Mommy I am!

Another (F)UNcle-Filled weekend

Slumber Party!

Shayna had a very special weekend. Not only did she reunite with her pal Mila, but she had a sleepover party at Grammie and Grandpa's house with Grammie and Uncle Marc (poor Grandpa had to go to Texas on business).

Drop-off went surprisingly well.

Meatball dinner was yummy!

Grammie had chocolate cookies!

In the morning everyone (including Elmo) went for a wagon ride.

Playdate with Mila!

To say that Mila and Shayna grew up together is an understatement. They may only be 14 and 13 months old, but Shayna and Mila had playdates once a week for the first 6 months of their lives, and for three of those months they spent all day at day care together. Well, thanks to SuperMommy Ariel, Mila and Shayna got to have a reunion playdate together today in NJ. Thank you so much for visiting and we hope to squeeze in more playtime before you go back home!

It took them both almost no time at all to get comfortable and start playing. We think they may on some level have actually remembered each other.

Shayna shared her rocking chair with Mila, who loved it! Shayna was also really good about sharing the little plastic balls from her monkey gym with everyone. So proud.

"Ok. Moms. Seriously. Would you please stop taking pictures of us?!"

"Mila, I call this meeting of the 'Best Ever Charlottesville Playgroup' to order!"

First up on the agenda, how do we get Shayna down to Charlottesville so we can play with Nora, Elise, and Emmelyn too?!

"Come on, Mila. Check this toy out!"
